Children love Orlando and when you go there it is easy to see why, it has some of the biggest and best theme parks in the world the most famous being the Walk Disney World Resort. Here you can immerse yourself in the fun and games of Disney, meeting the characters, enjoying parades and of course going on all the rides. There is something for every single age group and you will have a sore face at the end of the day from all the smiling you will be doing.
Also in Orlando is Universal Orlando Resort which is must if you are a fan of movies as it includes Universal Studios which not only has memorabilia from the movies but also has ride where you can experience them for yourself. One of the most famous of these rides is the Jaws - The Ride which has been terrifying visitors for over 15 years. There is also a new Simpsons ride which lets you feel as though you are in Springfield with Homer, Bart and the rest of the family.
For those of you who like animals there is Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort which offers several differently themed areas with animals which include Discovery Island, Camp Minnie-Mickey, Africa and Oasis. In fact a trip to the Animal Kingdom is like stepping into a wildlife film, and you cannot help but be impressed by what you can see and do there.
Shopping is also fantastic in Orlando with lots of different malls such as Orlando Premium Outlets which is the best for designer labels, The Mall at Millenia which has smaller scale versions of Macy’s and Bloomingdales and The Florida Mall which is the biggest mall in the city and is well worth a visit. Just make sure that with all the shopping you have someone to carry your bags!
Budding scientists should check out the Orlando Science Centre which has a staggering amount of exhibits many of which are interactive and are great fun for all ages. The Morse Museum of American Art is home to one of the biggest collections of jewellery from Louis Comfort Tiffany, there is also the Tiffany home which is beautiful.
If you would like to come close to some of the most fierce predators on the planet then why not go to Gatorland which is home to a huge collection of alligators and crocodiles. As well as this there is a petting zoo (that does not include gators or crocs!), outdoor entertainment, alligator wrestling, an eco-tour and mini water park.
If after all this you are hungry don’t worry - as you would expect Orlando has something for everyone and cuisines from around the world are available. You can get anything from traditional American food, Chinese, English, Asian, Mexican and more - the only problem might choosing where to eat!
