Fans of reality television will have heard of Miami as many of shows are based there from Miami Ink - a show about a Miami tattoo studio to Hogan Knows Best. Films and video games have also based scenes in this city as it is so visually appealing. However looking good and being used as a location for filming is not the only thing that Miami has to offer - far from it.
For those of you who like sports Miami has several professional sports teams such as the Dolphins an NFL team and Miami Heat who are an NBA team. So why not see if you can get to a game whilst on your trip? There are also golf courses, several greyhound racing tracks, tennis courts and even Jai Alai venues so you will have plenty to do.
Miami is also famous for its media output, there are several newspapers that are published there which include the Miami Times and Miami Today. As well as this there are production offices for many large television networks such as Sunbeam Television, RCTV International and Telemundo. In fact there is so much filming for news items and shows in Miami that you might be lucky enough to become a star of the small screen yourself whilst you are there.
During the day you can also go shopping and find yourself some treats to take home with you. Miami's shopping district has an abundance of shops and you can find everything from designer labels to vintage items in the Art Deco district, the only restriction is your finances! Whilst out shopping you can grab a bite to eat at one of the many cafes, bars and restaurants in this lively city, every taste is catered for so you will not go hungry.
If you like nightclubs and exciting nightlife Miami is ideal for you. In the Art Deco district which is situated in South Beach there are some of the most famous clubs in the world such as Cameo and Mansion. Go there and you might even be rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous. Miami also has a large jazz fan base and there are plenty of clubs that offer cool music, cool surroundings and cool drinks all within walking distance of each other. If jazz is not your thing don't worry, there is a nightclub for everyone from rock to pop, you can find it all after dark in Miami.
After a night out partying where better to spend the next day than at the beach? Miami Beach is one of the most famous beaches in the world and people flock there in their millions every year to experience the sights and sounds for themselves. Don't be fooled into thinking that the beach in Miami is just for sunbathing - there are shows, stalls selling food and goods, live music and much more going on daily, so head there and join in the fun.
Miami really is the perfect destination if you are looking for somewhere that is culturally diverse where you can be in the heart of a busy publishing district one minute and watching show on the beach the next. In Miami there is so much to do and see that you will want to go back there year after year.
